| Introduction : |
This is an exciting period for the Computer Engineering profession as the rapidly changing technology creates many opportunities and challenges. Department of Computer Engineering is prepared to meet the challenges and is playing a leadership role in shaping the education of the 21st Century by providing unique educational and research opportunities in the forefront of Computer Engineering, Information Technology and their applications.Computer Engineers Work with one of the most important office automation products-computers-in an expanding technological field. Computer engineers design the computer and its control systems (the hardware) and also develop computer software (the computer programmes). They are constantly engaged in improving the end product and building state-of the-art equipment-super computers, multimedia machines, graphic terminals, laser and inkjet printers, pentium based machines, etc.
The Computer Engineering department aims to provide a bridge between the latest Technology and the student?s eagerness to acquire the knowledge. Our engineering program equips our students to be competitive, to succeed in their profession, and to contribute to society. We place a heavy emphasis on hands-on learning: our instructional laboratory facilities are extensive and state-of-the-art, due to continual investment in upgrades and replacements. Moreover, most courses include scheduled laboratory sessions to provide students with exclusive access to these facilities, with an instructor or teaching assistant available to provide support and answer questions. .The Department of Computer Engineering established in the year 1991 offers UG programs in Computer Engineering and Information Technology along with post graduate programs in Computer Science & Engineering (Information Technology) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
The students are focused with the use of conceptual understanding of core domain areas in Computing as well as enhanced programming skills disseminating their analytical abilities. Our aim is to provide our students the lifelong learning and leadership skills that enable them to grow in their professions and advance to positions of responsibility by effective Industry-Institute Interaction. The Department has an excellent placement record and the placed students are in prestigious software industries all over the world. This is required for the critical analysis, design, evaluation, and improvement of computing systems in the contexts of computers and human, computers and the society, computers and the industry and services.
The college has a well established computer labs which are facilitated with IBM , X series Xeon & dual processor Pentium servers, Compaq Server and several hundred workstation connected in LAN & WAN.It is our objective to prepare students to be successful in computer engineering practice .Also they should to be able to pursue advanced studies in computer engineering on a competitive universal basis. |
| Necessary Qualifications : |
| B.Tech. in computer science. |
| Academic Programme : |
| The development of systems software and software for scientific and industrial applications is an important component of the course, as also training in hardware development. |
| Job Opportunities : |
With the widespread use of computers, computer engineers can find employment in almost any area of the industrial sector and in defense and research establishments. They can work with national and multinational manufacturers of computers.
In management consultancy organizations, they develop computer programs for industries. Computer engineers also find work in data processing departments of modern industries and in areas where computers and computer-aided systems are used, such as aeronautics and space science, the petroleum industry, chemical plants, and power plants. |
